FinCEN – Financial Crimes Enforecement Network Module Overview: FinCEN, or Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, is a division of the US Department of Treasury that, as its name suggests, is dedicated to uncovering financial crime. FinCEN’s mission is to enhance U.S. National Security, deter and detect criminal activity, and safeguard financial systems from abuse by promoting transparency in the U.S. and international financial systems. The AMI FinCEN Module will compare the most current FinCEN list against your membership, much like OFAC. This is a Federal mandated requirement that all financial institutions are required to comply with to help the U.S. fight its war on financial crimes.
AMI’s Encompass Software System allows you to run FinCEN multiple ways. When adding a new member to your Credit Union, AMI’s Account Express module will allow you to perform a FinCEN check during the on boarding process. One click of your mouse will put the FinCEN module in motion and a PDF report will display with the results. As an added feature the date that the FinCEN was run will update in the members Account Master to satisfy examiners. The FinCEN Module can also be run against your entire membership database at any time. The Encompass Software System allows your Credit Union the flexibility to run your compliance procedures at any time to fit your schedule.
